甲骨文和昇陽打Office System 2003

微軟新版Office System 2003將於年底前發表，這套包含即時通訊軟體、線上會議、SharePoint Portal Server、Exchange 2003等企業協同作業平臺，激起甲骨文戰鬥潛力，並尋求昇陽結盟，前者提供第二版新增線上會議功能的Oracle Collaboration Suite，整合後者的辦公室應用軟體StarOffice和Solaris平臺，並強調在價格上具有競爭力。

Oracle Collaboration Suite的即時傳訊功能預計在2004年問世。為了突顯產品價值，微軟將Office Real-Time Communication Server 2003更名成Office Live Communication Server 2003，先前併購的虛擬會議系統PlaceWare Conference Center，則更名為Office Live Meeting 2003，正式納入Office家族。
